one-to-one

I offer mentoring for clients in the following areas, which are representative of my particular fields of long-term expertise. This is not a finite list but designed to help you think about initial ‘fit’:

  • Weaving an interdisciplinary career

  • Book writing - narrative/creative non-fiction, nature-writing, memoir

  • Thesis/PhD support - exploring forms, formats and academic enquiry

  • Exploring geologically-informed practices

  • Supporting creativity and creative practice

  • Centring nature in your life and work

  • Building and sustaining a therapeutic practice that works for everyone (incl. leaving therapeutic practice)

Mentoring is offered on an ad-hoc basis, usually monthly (or fortnightly/three-weekly) and is scheduled together session-by-session (rather than offered at a set time, as with therapy). I work creatively and draw on a variety of trainings and influences including:

  • my psychotherapeutic training - eco-psychotherapy, depth psychology

  • movement & body-based practices of awareness and expression

  • dream exploration (the dreams we have in sleep)

  • creative writing, art making, drawing, mark-making and vision boards etc.

Our work will be collaborative and exploratory - there is no one type of mentoring relationship, we will create it together based on what you need.

Mentoring is designed to help you draw on my experience, but though I will always answer any and all questions you might have for me, my approach to mentoring is similar to that of therapy, where I would rather we elicit your wisdom and understanding of what to do next/what you want for your career etc, using creative, depthful and playful methods working in and with the natural world wherever possible!

Get in touch

What is ‘therapeutic mentoring’?

At this time, I am not currently taking on any new therapy clients as I cannot provide the consistent availability that great therapy benefits from when I am travelling/working away/writing. Instead, I am focused on mentoring and consultation. However, I am - at heart - a therapist which means I still work to the ethical framework offered by my membership with NCPS, and I still bring a ‘depth’ lens to all of my one-to-one work. If you are looking for mentoring and perhaps recognise that issues of a ‘therapeutic nature’ stand in your way, or you are working in a sick or traumatised body, or in any other way feel you would benefit from mentoring that isn’t afraid to look at the deeper issues and dynamics at work in your life, then please do get in touch.

This will be assessed on a case by case basis, though mentees are reminded that mentoring is not therapy, and I cannot offer support for acute crisis and high-intensity therapy at this time. The potentials and limits of our work will be discussed if we begin work together.

Do you offer clinical supervision for therapists?

At this time, I do not offer supervision for therapists. The nature of my work often takes me away for travel, and this is not a stable-enough base to offer oversight of therapeutic practice and hold this work for supervisees. Mentoring is offered as a middle-ground for therapists who want support building their ecological therapeutic practices from an experienced practitioner, but without clinical responsibility and oversight. Mentoring is not a substitute for supervision, but complementary to, and is especially well-suited to career development and orientation.

One-off sessions & consultations

I offer one-off consultations and these are between 2 hours up to half or full day. I completely understand there are instances and moments in our careers when we need some help or advice quickly and in response to a fleeting moment or opportunity! Likewise, we might need a sanity check on a book proposal or piece of writing we’re sending off into the world. Alternatively, you might just have some burning questions to ask. If this is you, please do get in touch.

Grab hold of your threads and weave them. Your journey is yours to make, but we do not have to make our journeys alone. A good mentor can be transformative.

Why mentoring?

  • I feel lost and don’t know how to proceed with my path

  • I have run out of inspiration and need a helping hand

  • I could do with running my ideas past someone who has done this before

  • I have creative ideas I want to explore

  • I need a second pair of eyes on my new project

  • I have a lot of ideas and I don’t know where to go next

  • I feel like I’m on my own

  • I could do with the benefit of someone else’s experience

  • I value my peace and I am a quiet person, and I need support in doing my work in this noisy world

  • I have other types of supervision but it doesn’t not provide enough contact

Good for you to know:

  • I did used to offer one-off, hourly, mentoring sessions until 2024. I only offer those now for people I have already worked with on courses, workshops, in therapy etc. If we have recently worked together before please do give me a shout!

I still offer one-off sessions but they are for a minimum of 2-hours and are a higher fee (from £170). You are welcome to enquire about these too!

  • Book mentoring is designed to help you progress your ideas for trad publishing or self publishing over a period of time. I can read working manuscripts as part of that process, but as a mentor, not a copy editor or proof reader. Usually we will work with a few pages at a time. If you would like me to read more than a few pages and planning documents before mentoring commences on your book dreams, then this is an additional fee.

  • The cost of mentoring is variable but begins at £85/session for 2026. It will depend entirely on how you would like support with your work and over what time-frame. Just get in touch with your ideas and I will let you know! :)

Sessions are offered outside and online depending on the time of year.

Together we will work out what you’re looking for, how I can help, and build from there.
